Thanks to Frances Bell for reminding me that I should include the lack of open standards. This is a major issue when we consider the impossibility of moving avatars between virtual spaces, the difficulties of integrating external tools with SL and finally the investment, both time and economic, in non-transferable solutions. I have updated the presentation to include this issue under both technical and economic barriers.
