Terrible word I know but here is a fairly useful, if commonsensical, guide from the University of Wisconsin on getting started with deploying audio (podcasting) in teaching and learning. It covers the five stages from choosing content through to incorporating podcasts in your course. I am still doubtful whether podcasts of usable quality are obtainable without reasonable effort and is in fact a a skill that is beyond most of us who have not been trained as audio broadcasters ... though the secret (for me) really is: "Keep the length of a podcast short. Most experienced podcasters recommend a program length anywhere between 3 and 15 minutes."
